Concept Art and Other Notes

I hesitate to post pictures like this out of fear that people will get a wrong impression of what Geoshie is.  If you promise someone an action thriller and then deliver a game where the story is told almost entirely through diary entries... well, someone is going to have a problem with that.

I'm really overdue with a really detailed gameplay explanation, but you're not going to get it in this post, so have some other notes instead.

These are pretty old now, probably from my last catch-up post.  I've mentioned Geoshie's 'goggle system' before.  What basically happens is that you stand in one place and your phone acts like a virtual camera into the world around you.  Or, to put it bluntly, you can see and look around in environments that aren't there

The system still has a little way to go, but it's almost completely working now.

Me musing on how the goggles might play out in actual gameplay.  I've also got some notes on the inventory structure on the left page.

I have around 3 notebooks that I use for planning and thinking about Geoshie, all of them different sizes.  There's no real rhyme or reason to what goes in which one.  Some are just more portable than others.

I find that writing down what I'm thinking can help me get a little bit more creative than I otherwise would be, plus this keeps me organized and allows me to forget about things that I'm not concentrating on at the moment.

I try and be permanent with at least 2 of the notebooks; if I don't have something substantial to write down, I don't write down anything.   If I need to just mess around and doodle, I'll use separate paper (like above) and if anything worthwhile comes out of it, I'll just keep the papers with one of the notebooks.

There's a ton of these notes that I probably could upload, but I'll show my attempts at an RIT map and leave it at that.  It's slow going, but progress is being made.

Sorry that there's not more actual information in this post, but until I get more done, there's not really much to tell.  The next item on the list is a teaser trailer, but I'll need to get some more engine work done before I can film it.

In the meantime, updates might be a little sparse.
